About Albert Diaz
Albert Diaz creates hand-drawn graphite labyrinths within familiar and meaningful symbols. Each drawing contains one fully solvable path, inviting viewers to explore the artwork through focused attention, quiet discovery, and contemplation.
A self-taught artist with more than fifty years of maze-drawing experience, Albert has developed a precise and meditative technique rooted in patience, discipline, and craftsmanship. Each labyrinth begins with a blank page and gradually becomes a carefully ordered journey. To Albert, that process reflects life itself: what may first appear confusing or overwhelming can, with perseverance, reveal purpose and direction.
His work is more than abstract art. Hidden within the labyrinths are symbolic images—including lions, crosses, lighthouses, doves, trees, hearts, and crowns—representing strength, faith, hope, guidance, love, transformation, and the search for truth.
Albert believes art can invite people to slow down, reflect, and discover meaning. Rather than creating images that simply decorate a wall, he creates works that encourage exploration, conversation, and personal interpretation.
As a Christian, Albert’s faith has profoundly influenced both his life and his art. He sees each drawing as an opportunity to express order, beauty, and hope in a world that often feels uncertain. His purpose is not merely to create intricate patterns, but to remind others that even life’s most complex paths can lead toward meaning.
His current collection features ten completed labyrinth-inspired artworks exploring themes of faith, nature, strength, transformation, and the human journey. A second collection is now in progress.
Working from Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Albert continues to refine his distinctive approach to interactive fine art—drawing every piece by hand, one pencil line at a time, with the hope that each viewer will discover something unique along the journey.
